It was around 2005, that Mei starts solo in the composition of electronic music, trip-hop and sometimes jazzy then opens gradually to more subtle rhythms and more sophisticated melodies, sometimes close to pure hip-hop. His discography (like the title) clearly illustrates the stages of the maturation of his style, each album contributing to weave the web of a complex personal world, cerebral and hypnotic.

Black Cotton releases her first album, "and the ... and the ..." under the independent French label "Gritche". Her working also touches the contemporary theater and the dance, for sound creations, performances ... according to a sustained rhythm. Black Cotton evolves towards a more and more precise style oscillating between Hip Hop, Trip Hop, Electronic and "unstructured structures" influences.
